BOSTON STRONG news – Boston, MA: Boston News Guild reports 4.17.2020.

Thirty Boston Herald news and sports reporters, photographers, advertising, and circulation staff will undergo furloughs between two to five unpaid weeks beginning Monday through June 30.

This unfortunate arrangement comes two weeks after nine Herald employees were laid off amid a public health crisis in which we strive everyday to keep the public informed.

The Herald newsroom — like scores of others across the country — is buckling down as budgets tighten amid widespread coronavirus pandemic-related shutdowns. Please consider subscribing to your local newspapers to support the journalists who work hard every day to bring you the facts that matter.
